It's Like Siri, But Better
We live in a world where virtually everything can be controlled using our voice or with a push of a button. Whether it’s turning the lights on or ordering groceries for next week, technology is constantly making our every-day lives a little easier. While this is true, there are still many tedious tasks we do ourselves. Whether it’s setting up our cable, booking a reservation or doctor’s appointment, or something as simple as answering phone calls, these are all things that take up time and deter us from doing the things that actually matter to us. Assistants are fantastic, but we may not have enough going on to justify hiring one or simply can’t afford their services. But what if we told you that you can have all the help you need without having to break the bank? With Fin, you can have just that.
Founded in 2015 by Andrew Kortina and Sam Lessin, Fin uses a combination of humans and AI to help you get your everyday tasks done. Even better than a personal assistant, Fin doesn’t sleep, get sick, or go on vacation so it’s truly available 24/7. Whether it’s answering calls and emails, scheduling meetings, booking flights and car services, transcribing recordings, and even paying your bills, Fin is capable of helping you with everything a regular assistant would, and more. If you’re anxious about how your tasks are going to be handled, the service provides weekly live phone calls to let you brain-dump and delegate everything you need help with for the week. After that, the system uses an algorithm to provide content, prioritization and preferences for each task. It’s thanks to this AI component that the service improves as it gets to know you over time.
Not sure how the service can help you? Take a 2 minute survey on the Fin website, and based on your responses, it determines how many hours you could be saving each week. Price is determined by the amount of time a certain task will take. After analyzing thousands of requests, Fin is able to provide the typical price range for each type of request. Whether you want full-time assistance, part-time help, or only have occasional requests, you pay a monthly price that serves as credit. If you surpass this amount, pay per request thereafter.
Communicating with Fin is simple, just open the app and type, speak, or upload a photo of your request. You can also send requests via Slack if that’s where you spend most of your day. Whatever your preferred method of communication, you’ll receive a message back almost immediately by a Fin human confirming your request was received. So go ahead and give it a try, your first request is free up to $30!
