A Physical Key To A Digital Memory
Using your phone’s camera is probably the easiest way to store a memory. The only problem is that pictures tend to stay in your camera roll and get lost as you take new ones. Not every photo you take is meant to be memorable and special, but those that are, deserve special treatment. That’s when having a physical photo becomes really valuable. Printing requires either expensive equipment or the hassle of finding a business that still provides the service. But what if there was an easier way to print photos instantly and inexpensively? Thanks to Prynt, now there is.
With a passion for creativity and photos, Co-Founders Clément Perrot and David Zhang founded Prynt in June 2014, the first-ever smartphone printer/phone case. The compact and lightweight accessory is the most convenient way to enjoy your pictures on the go. Just plug the device directly to your phone using the lightning port and in seconds you will have a high quality, wallet sized 2 x 3 inch photo. The Prynt Pocket uses ZINK paper where ink is contained within the paper and is revealed with thermal heating, so there’s no need to replace any ink cartridges. You can place up to 10 sheets of paper at a time and the device allows you to print on regular, sticker, and mini sticker paper.
With the Prynt app, you can add filters, frames, emojis and even text to your photos. The app links to your social media allowing even more ways to share. See your photos come to life, the app automatically records a quick video and links it to the photo. The 10-second video will then be viewable to anyone who possesses both the print and the app.
Compatible with iPhone 5 and newer versions, the Prynt Pocket comes in four unique colors: Lavender, Mint, Graphite, and Cool-Gray. Don’t have an iPhone? You can now pre-order the Android version through the company’s website.
They say that everything comes back in style at some point or another and even with the come-back of the Polaroid, in today’s digital era, it’s no surprise that there needed to be a twist on the classic.
