One Card To Rule them All
Most of us have faced that awkward moment where we’ve had to take out an overflowing wallet with three gift cards, five membership and loyalty cards, two debit and four credit cards. The real kicker is when you realize you forgot the card you need at home after going through the entire contents of your wallet. Twice.
The Fuze team noticed all the grumbling, fumbling, forgetting, and frustration and decided to develop one card to rule them all.
The Fuze smart card is a sleek and convenient solution to reducing your entire wallet onto a single card. It’s about as thin as one of the cool, metal credit cards from Chase or American Express, but has an embedded e-paper display and three buttons so you can easily toggle back and forth through the cards you’ve stored. The encrypted chip can hold up to 30 different digital cards, varying from merchant (like Visa, Amex, Mastercard, and Discover) to loyalty, rewards, gift and even access cards. And since it is compatible with barcode technology, EMV chip, magnetic strip, and NFC, there’s virtually no card that Fuze can’t replace. Consolidating your wallet is simple, you just need to take a picture of your existing cards using the Fuze app, or use the magnetic card reader that comes with your card and plugs into your phone’s headphone jack. This will securely store the card’s information on the app, which syncs to your Fuze card via bluetooth. The Fuze smart card is powered by an internal battery that can last up to a month on a single charge and a portable charger is included with your purchase, so you’ll never run out of juice.
When it comes to card information, security is a high priority. That’s exactly why the team behind Fuze uses the same levels of encryption that the U.S. government uses for handling personal data, known as AES 287. Apart from the highly encrypted payment information, Fuze built in additional features to ensure your information is safe even if your card gets misplaced or stolen. The card’s location tracking feature sends you alerts in case you leave it behind at a cash register. In case you can’t recover your card, the app will let you remote wipe all information from the smart chip with the touch of a button. You may create a physical 6-digit password using the card buttons that prevents unauthorized uses of your card, and even “freeze” the card to your preferred payment method to prevent the smart card from accidentally switching alternatives when handing over your Fuze.
Fuze is not the first smart card we’ve seen, but definitely the one we want to manage our wallet for us. The Fuze team seems to have learnt from the mistakes of its predecessors to built a better, more efficient product. Although, at first, it may feel strange to carry only one card in your wallet, we promise you won't miss the weight and mess of your old cards.
