For all the coders out there…

For a long time now, Sublime was the sole champion in the code/text editor arena. But at a pricy license, that title was doomed to change owners soon. Over a year ago, Github released Atom as a public beta. What started as a side project quickly became a quite popular open source alternative text editor. The basics are always important and Atom covers them well. It ships with tabbed view, split panes, lots of keyboard shortcuts, really cool themes, search & replace and the like. In addition, it has a very large and active community that continuously develops packages extending Atom’s core functionalities. On June 2015, Github announced Atom 1.0, defining Atom’s user experience, performance and stability foundation. It really looks promising!
