An Interactive Take On Street Art

An Interactive Take On Street Art

Invader is a French street artist who instead of using graffiti uses mosaics. He takes his signature character from the 1970's game Space Invaders and places his works in random locations in the cities he chooses to invade. Since 1998 he developed a large scale project to invade as many cities as possible, and up until today he has placed over 3,200 mosaics in 65 different cities across the globe. In order to allow the masses to follow his invasion, Invader and LTU Technologies created the FlahInvaders app. The app is actually a game that combines your location and some image recognition software to scan the mosaics made by the artist and give you points based on successful findings. The idea is to flash as many artworks as you can in order to be on the high-scores list, which adds healthy competition to this artsy crusade. It might sound simple, but Invader pieces are generally in the most unexpected sites. In addition, due to the nature of street art, some works disappear quite fast. So, if you see one; hurry up, flash it and follow the invasion!
